Do a school checkup for your child
October 15, 2007Now that students are well into another school year, it's a good time to check in with them and even their teachers to make sure they are on track-academically and emotionally. Simple and casual communication is the key.
Each day ask your child specific questions, such as:- What is his/her favorite subject or teacher and why?
- Who did he/she sit with at lunch today?
- What was the best/worst thing that happened today?
Be sure to reach out to teachers by phone, note or email, introducing yourself and letting them know things about your child that might be helpful. Open the door for them to contact you if your child changes his/her behavior or faces any social or academic challenge.
If your child exhibits a change in behavior or grades or appears to be struggling emotionally, NewBridge can help. Contact NewBridge Services today at 888-746-9333 or click here.
