Keep Alcohol Consumption in Check
Apr 1, 2010The line between social drinking and problem drinking is an easy one to cross. If you drink alone when you feel sad or angry, drink after telling yourself you won't, or if drinking affects your personal or professional life, you may have a problem. April is national Alcohol Awareness Month, a good time to evaluate your relationship with alcohol. To cut back on drinking:
- Make a list of the benefits of not drinking
- Set a limit on how much you will drink and keep a daily log of how much you drink for several weeks
- Have at least two or three alcohol-free days each week
- Participate in activities that don't involve alcohol
