Beat the Heat
Jul 15, 2010All winter long, we longed for the warmth of summer days, but now that we're in the thick of it, a little frost would be welcome. During July's hazy, hot and humid days, it's important to remember elderly family members and friends. When the temperature soars, check in on them, as they are more susceptible to extreme heat.
Here are some tips to help seniors beat the heat:
- When visiting a neighbor, bring along a pitcher of iced tea to share.
- If an elderly family member doesn't have air conditioning, invite him over to enjoy the cool air.
- onate or lend a fan to someone in need.
- Run an errand for a senior so she doesn't need to go outside.
