NewBridge Launches Annual Appeal
Donations fund local programs for youth, seniors and more
Pompton Plains, NJ - November 14, 2007 - With taxes rising each year, community resources often bear the brunt, being cut first when more people than ever need them. Luckily, local nonprofit agencies like NewBridge Services continue to grow in order to help people find the help they need. Last year, more than 9,500 people across Northern New Jersey got help from NewBridge, a nonprofit provider of behavioral health and education programs and services, including youth services, senior services, counseling, housing and substance abuse services.
But organizations like NewBridge depend on the generosity of individuals and corporations, and with that, announces the launching of its Annual Giving Appeal for 2007.
"From tried-and-true services like counseling and in-school programs, to programs that respond to a particular need or crisis, NewBridge keeps a finger on the pulse of our communities," said Robert L. Parker, Executive Director, NewBridge. "Every donation-no matter how small or large-makes a big difference for these programs that help people right here in our communities."
Among the many programs NewBridge offers are:- NewBridge 70001 JOBS PLUS, helping high school dropouts achieve success through GED and job training
- NewBridge SAIL, offering free links to services for residents over age 60
- NewBridge Affordable Housing, developing 100 units of housing by 2010 for low- and moderate-income persons and those with special needs
- NewBridge Prevention Programs, which last year taught more than 5,000 children and teens how to deal with bullying, conflict resolution, self esteem, suicide prevention, substance abuse prevention and more.
- NewBridge IOP, which helps people maintain a stable and drug-free lifestyle
NewBridge has 29 locations, with offices in Boonton, Pompton Lakes, Pompton Plains, Wayne and West Milford, NJ. NewBridge also brings its programs to schools, corporations, events and organizations across Northern New Jersey.
