Trio of New Jersey Advocates To Be Honored at NewBridge Celebration
Buchanan, Wall and First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains to Receive "Helping People Move Forward" Award
Pompton Plains, NJ - February 13, 2009 - NewBridge Services, Inc., a nonprofit community provider of behavioral health and education programs and services, will honor Mary Jo Buchanan, Director, Morris County Department of Human Services; The First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains and Michael Wall, Senior Vice President, Regional Manager, Capital One Bank, N.A. with the NewBridge 2009 Helping People Move Forward award. The recipients will receive their awards during NewBridge's annual gala, The Magic of NewBridge, on April 2, 2009 at The Villa at Mountain Lakes.
Buchanan has dedicated her life to helping others in direct human services, administration and in educating others in the field. The First Reformed Church has a longstanding commitment of reaching out to people in need. In fact, one of the church's pastors was among the community residents who founded NewBridge in 1963.
As a representative of Capital One, Wall contributes to many non-profits helping them make responsible decisions. Organizations like NewBridge rely on the expertise of Wall and other financially savvy individuals who donate their time to non-profit boards, many organizations would truly struggle.
"In these very challenging times, it is particularly important that we remember to thank those who selflessly and continuously give of themselves to improve the lives of others," said Robert L. Parker, Executive Director, NewBridge. "While this event gives us the opportunity to recognize and honor these three recipients, its also provides the opportunity to thank all of those who remembers those who are less fortunate."
