NewBridge Offers Free Alcohol Screenings in Morris, Passaic Counties

Pompton Plains, NJ - March 30, 2004 - NewBridge Services, Inc., a non-profit, community provider of premier health and education programs and services, will participate in National Alcohol Screening Day on April 8, 2004 by offering free screenings to Morris and Passaic county residents.

"For most adults, moderate alcohol use - up to two drinks per day for men and one drink per day for women and older people - causes few, if any, problems. But for some, any alcohol use may lead to significant health problems," said Robert L. Parker, Executive Director, NewBridge Services. "Trying to figure out the risks associated with alcohol use is not easy because alcohol affects your body differently at different times. NewBridge Services uses education, awareness and understanding to empower people to make informed decisions about their drinking behaviors."

To find out how alcohol may be affecting your health or the health of a loved one, NewBridge Services is offering education sessions on April 8 -- National Alcohol Screening Day -- at their offices in Montville, Pompton Lakes and West Milford. As part of the program, participants will hear an education presentation on alcohol problems, complete a written self-test and have the opportunity to talk privately with a health professional, all for free. An education video, pamphlets, brochures, flyers and referrals will be available for those who need further evaluation or information.

To make an appointment for a free screening, call NewBridge at 973-316-9333.
