Summer Youth Employment Program Seeks Employers

Pompton Plains, NJ - May 3, 2005 - Area businesses seeking summer help may find just what they are looking for, thanks to a program that links businesses with area teens who would benefit from the skill-building opportunities of summer employment.

NewBridge Services, Inc., a nonprofit provider of health and education services, is now accepting area businesses to join its network of participating organizations for the Summer Employment Program for Youth. This free program meets businesses' needs by filling positions for seasonal workers with Morris County teens ages 14 to 16, while saving the costs of advertising and recruiting for summer help.

"Working with NewBridge Services was a very positive experience. We were very happy with the youth who were placed at our facility," said Ray Schank, Vice President of Craigmeur Recreation Complex. We are looking forward to our partnership for 2005."

Participating businesses will be connected with teens based in part on the teens' areas of interest, to gain experience that assists them with making career choices.

"For the teen with a love of reading, job placement at the library is a perfect fit," said Jill Worrall, NewBridge Youth Employment Coordinator and Prevention Counselor. "Those who enjoy working with children have gotten jobs at camps. We hope to inspire teens with career goals by helping them find jobs in their area of interest."

NewBridge serves as a resource to both parties, providing support and assistance through training, counseling, motivation and employment placement. For more information on the Summer Employment Program for Youth, call Worrall at (973) 839-2521, ext. 298.
