NewBridge Awarded $7,500 from Verizon for Employment & Education Program

Pompton Plains, NJ - August 3, 2006- NewBridge Services, Inc., a community provider of behavioral health and education programs and services, has received $7,500 from Verizon to fund the agency's employment and education program for local high school dropouts.

"We are very excited that Verizon has chosen to stand behind NewBridge 70001 JOBS PLUS and young adults who want to succeed in life," said Robert L. Parker, Executive Director, NewBridge. "Each year, more and more young adults are seeking that second chance at success through enrollment in NewBridge 70001 JOBS PLUS, and Verizon is helping to make success possible for them."

For the past 24 years, NewBridge 70001 has provided Morris County residents between the ages of 16 and 21 with an opportunity to receive their state-issued high school diploma, group and individual educational, job training and placement assistance. Many of the young adults who participate in NewBridge 70001 JOBS PLUS found difficulty assimilating in traditional schools and, in many cases, suffer from personal and social challenges, including drug or alcohol abuse, juvenile delinquency, abuse, neglect, learning disabilities and teen pregnancy.

NewBridge 70001 JOBS PLUS receives funding from a number of other sources, including the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Morris County Office of Workforce Development, United Way of Morris County and North Fork Bank, as well as residents and business owners who believe in this program and its students. As budgets tighten and funding continues to shrink, NewBridge relies on contributions and grants to maintain this program, which is free of charge to participants.

Those interested in making a tax-free donation or in volunteering their time to support NewBridge programs and services can contact Nina McCormack, Development and Marketing Director, at 973-839-2521, ext. 420 or nmccormack@newbridge.org.
