NewBridge Hosts Free Job Training for Morris Teens
Pompton Plains, N.J., November 27, 2006 - NewBridge Services, a nonprofit community provider of behavioral health and education programs and services, is offering a free training for teens interested in summer employment as camp counselors or daycare workers.
This program, open to residents of Morris County between the ages of 15-17, will be held on Monday, December 18, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at 110 Cornelia Street in Boonton, NJ.
"Teens interested in getting a job at a camp or daycare center will find this training helpful in preparing for this type of work experience," said Jill Worrall, Summer Youth Employment program coordinator. "Many teens will be seeking jobs next summer, and those who are trained through the Summer Youth Employment program will have that extra qualification, which is likely to give them a leg up on the competition and help ensure that they are better prepared for the opportunity."
Teens will learn about resume writing and professional correspondence writing, interviewing skills, job searches, job retention skills, and expectations of employers, and will receive an overview of the Summer Youth Employment program, which links area teens to summer jobs.
Daycare training through this program is available to teens ages 15-17, and camp counselor training is available to teens ages 16-17. All teens must have a signed permission slip to participate in this training and the Summer Youth Employment program. To register, call Worrall at (973) 839-2521, ext. 298.
