NewBridge awarded grants for housing

NewBridge Services, Inc., a community provider of behavioral health and education programs and services, has been awarded $480,000 in grants from the NJ Housing Mortgage and Finance Agency (HMFA) Special Needs Trust Fund and United Way of Morris County to fund its second affordable housing development project in Morris County.

In addition, NewBridge received assistance for this project from New Jersey Community Capital and a New Jersey Department of Consumer Affairs operating subsidy through the State Rental Assistance Program.

"This is just the latest example of how NewBridge is able to continue to advance its full-scale affordable housing development initiative through the creation of partnerships and securing of grant monies. Through these efforts, the agency is ahead of projections in reaching its goal of creating 100 new permanent, affordable housing units in Morris and Passaic counties in the next four years," said Robert L. Parker, Executive Director, NewBridge.

"NewBridge is gratified to be able to develop these partnerships to bring affordable housing options to Morris County. This mission represents the kind of vital services that NewBridge delivers in response to community needs," said Melody Federico, Director of Housing Development, NewBridge.

NewBridge prides itself on responding to the needs of the community and has heard the call for more affordable housing in New Jersey. Responding to the statewide effort to combat the state's housing crisis, NewBridge has taken an active role in providing affordable housing opportunities for those with disabilities, particularly those with special needs, as well as those with moderate and low incomes. .
