NewBridge recognizes giving spirit

PEQUANNOCK- During its annual summer picnic, celebrating staff, volunteers, supporters and the community, NewBridge Services Inc., a nonprofit community provider of health and education programs and services, honored two Morris County residents with the Second Annual NeBridge Lifetime Achievement Award. Doug Cook and the late James Ryan, both of Pompton Plains, were awarded in recognition of their untiring support and philanthropic spirit.

"Doug Cook and Jim Ryan epitomize the essence of this award," said Robert Parker, executive director, newBridge. "both are consummate givers, who consistently put the well-being and welfare of others before themselves."

As one of the original founders of newBridge, Ryan has helped the organizaiton realize its vision of helping people move forward and find balance in their lives. Throughout his life, Ryan routinely gave to his community and to his country.

As co-founder of the Annual NewBridge Golf Outing, Cook has helped raise more than $150,000 to support NewBridge's programs.
