Enrich
The NewBridge Enrich horticultural therapy program teaches skills and responsibilities that come with caring for a garden.
But Enrich is more than just gardening. In many cases, it transforms individuals from the role of cared-for to the role of caregiver, often for the first time in their lives.
Enrich offers those working toward wellness and recovery the opportunity to:
- Build skills for life & vocation
- Learn responsibility & commitment
- Cooperate with others to achieve a common goal
- Reap the rewards of work & nurture
- Channel energies into a positive, functional pursuit
- Build self-esteem
This innovative program empowers NewBridge day treatment clients to discover their own potential through the outlet of horticultural therapy, while simultaneously Enriching the appearance of the surrounding community. Through Enrich, clients collaborate in hands-on, goal-driven activities that draw them together socially and provide the satisfaction of a job well done-both through the beauty of the Enrich garden, and through their newfound sense of pride and accomplishment.
