Residential Care
If a loved one's mental condition impedes his or her ability to live independently, NewBridge offers a creative and innovative approach to housing that provides the most appropriate level of service with the ultimate goal of increased independence and helping people remain in a home of their own. NewBridge's housing program includes a full continuum of semi-supervised and supervised residential programs and permanent housing opportunities.
Within each house, trained professionals are assigned to monitor medications and conduct family and individual counseling. Residents may participate in day programs and therapy sessions and receive personalized attention and individualized services, such as nutritional advice, to help them begin functioning as independently as possible. NewBridge's residential care services include:- Long-term community residential programs that house a limited number of post-hospitalized adults. Staffed around-the-clock, this option uses a group-oriented approach to enhance a person's daily living skills.
- Semi-supervised group homes in which residents can access staff by phone at nighttime and on weekends, as needed. Residents receive assistance with errands, living and social skills, medication monitoring and can access counseling and day treatment programs.
- Private apartments which provide increased independence to those who can live alone or with others, each having his or her own room. This option enables the residents to pursue jobs and attend day treatment programs. Occasional visits by NewBridge's professional staff enable residents to discuss and resolve roommate and personal issues.
- In-house support services are available for those who could benefit from a helping hand but who prefer to stay in their own homes.
Affordable, Supportive Housing
NewBridge's affordable, supportive housing initiative provides permanent, affordable supportive housing options to area residents who are able to hold their own lease, to live independently, and have demonstrated their ability to successfully manage their illness. The initiative is helping those residents complete the path to independence by providing housing options that empower them to live self-sufficient, productive lives.
