The Summer Youth Employment program at NewBridge Services gives Morris County teens ages 14 to 18 a chance to learn, serve and grow. In three-week sessions that meet two days a week, students build confidence, job skills and a stronger sense of direction through classroom learning and community service.

Empowering Teens Through Job Readiness and Career Development in Morris County

Finding your first job can be difficult, especially when you're not sure where to start or what employers are looking for in today's competitive job market. The program equips teens with real-world experience and the support they need to launch successful careers and build a foundation for their future.

Building Essential Skills for Career Success

Through a combination of skill-building workshops, hands-on community service and mentorship from young professionals, participants gain practical experience while making meaningful contributions to their community. Our youth employment program includes:

  • Job-Search Strategies: Learn effective techniques for finding and applying to positions that match your interests and abilities.
  • Professional Communication: Develop strong resumes, cover letters and interview skills that make lasting impressions.
  • Financial Literacy and Goal Setting: Build budgeting skills, and set achievable personal and professional objectives.
  • Stress Management and Self-Care: Strengthen resilience and maintain well-being at work and in daily life.
  • Community Service Experience: Contribute through at least three supervised projects with Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, Morris County Parks or Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

Each session is limited to 15 students, allowing for personalized attention and peer interaction. In this supportive setting, teens can practice new skills without pressure and connect with others who share similar goals. Participants report greater confidence and clearer direction after completing the program.
