Marking 60 Years of NewBridge Services

On Dec. 23, 1963, this amazing organization opened its doors in the former Pompton Plains library to ensure area residents could receive professional mental health treatment close to home. Originally called the Pequannock Valley Mental Health Center, NewBridge Services grew and evolved over the decades to meet emerging needs.

Today, NewBridge tackles some of society’s toughest issues — including mental illness, substance use, isolation, and homelessness — through counseling, housing and education. Each year, it helps thousands of children, adults and seniors in Morris, Passaic and Sussex counties, and beyond. NewBridge has service centers in Haskell, Parsippany, Pequannock and Sparta, operates five group homes, created 84 units of affordable housing, and provides support services that allow people with mental illness and older adults to live as independently as possible.

Thanks to Our Supporters

None of this could happen without the ongoing support of our generous partners. Thank you for believing in NewBridge. Together, we lift people out of despair and set them on a healing path. Please consider making a donation in honor of our 60th anniversary at newbridge.org/donate or mail a check to: NewBridge Services, c/o Director of Development Trevor McPherson, 1259 Rt. 46 East, Suite B, Parsippany, NJ 07054. Know that your financial support is powering life-changing programs for some of our communities’ most vulnerable members.

You can also purchase a commemorative brick that will become part of a walkway at our NewBridge campus off Newark Pompton Turnpike. Earlier this month, we unveiled our new headquarters on property adjacent to our Crossroads adult psychiatric day treatment program and apartments for people with mental illness and other special needs.

“It’s a pleasure to have you back in the center of town,” Pequannock Mayor David Kohle said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “We look forward to many, many more years of dedicated services to the residents of Pequannock and the surrounding areas from NewBridge.”
