When a client first came to NewBridge, she began individualized therapy and, for additional support, entered NewBridge’s outpatient psychiatric day treatment program for people with serious mental illness.
Even with that help, the struggles she faced weighed heavily on her and her family. Eventually, the turmoil escalated into an acute mental health crisis, and she needed immediate, intensive support due to unresolved trauma.
The dedicated teams at NewBridge and Christian Health collaborated to provide inpatient services at Ramapo Ridge Behavioral Health — Christian Health’s specialized psychiatric unit — where the client received critical stabilization treatment.
When the crisis subsided, staff from both organizations coordinated closely to ensure a smooth transition to NewBridge’s Community Support Services, a program that provides consistent counseling and case management. The stability she regained eased the strain on her family and allowed her to again focus on parenting her son.
Today, she lives in a safe home, the start of her long-term healing journey.
“This is exactly what our partnership is designed to accomplish,” said Michelle Borden, CEO of NewBridge Services. “Together, we’re able to connect people with the right level of care and ensure continuity of support as they move forward in their recovery.”
This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of NewBridge and Christian Health to provide compassionate, coordinated care that supports people through crisis and into long-term stability.
