Former Leader at Global Corporation Becomes NewBridge CFO

Marc K. Mackin, former head of North American operations for the international corporation Lapp, came out of retirement to become chief financial officer for NewBridge Services.

“I’d done the corporate career, and felt it was time to give back,” said Marc, who became CFO on June 1. “There is a very strong sense of purpose and mission at NewBridge; I hear from everyone here a deep commitment to the organization.”

‘Tremendous Expertise’

NewBridge CEO Michelle Borden said the nonprofit provider of counseling, housing and education was fortunate to attract a financial professional of Marc’s caliber. “Marc brings to NewBridge tremendous expertise, and will help ensure NewBridge’s financial standing as we continue to evolve,” Borden said. Marc replaces Walter Dudzinski, who retired after seven years as NewBridge’s CFO.

Marc grew up in Pequannock Township and knew of NewBridge Services as a “nonprofit with a noble mission,” he said. His mother used NewBridge SAIL (Senior Assistance for Independent Living), a free program that connects Morris County residents age 60 and up with support services they need to remain in their homes. His mother was able to live at home until the last few weeks of her life, he said.

NewBridge’s group homes are near-and-dear to his heart. Marc has a niece who lives in a group home in Long Island, and “I know what it takes to make a program like that successful,” he said.

Leadership Credentials

Marc worked his way up the ladder at Lapp, a family-held company founded in Germany that makes cables and connectors for industrial use. As managing director for North American operations for six years, Marc oversaw successful operating units in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. During that time, he earned three executive certificates in leadership, management, and operations and technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Marc left Lapp in 2015 and worked as a management consultant while completing a five-year master’s program in theology at Seton Hall University. He was ordained a Roman Catholic deacon in August 2020, and serves at his home parish of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Pompton Plains. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and information systems,

Marc said his goal for his early days at NewBridge “is to listen, learn and be as useful as possible to support the mission.” The 65-year-old and his wife, Nadine, live in Kinnelon. Their daughter and son-in-law and 2-year-old grandson live nearby.
